A word on Nissan Leaf sales, orders and reservation numbers [w/poll]

What's up with the sales, orders and reservations of the Nissan Leaf? The Japanese automaker loudly trumpeted the 20,000 reservations it originally collected back in September, 2010 and Nissan's Mark Perry recently told AutoblogGreen that, since then, that number has climbed to around 26,000. Where do things stand today? That's not exactly simple to figure out. Here's what we know:
  • Number of accepted Leaf reservations: 26,000
  • - Number of Leaf models sold: 10,000
  • - Number sold in January: 800 (estimate)

Nissan creates first self-healing iPhone case

Nissan has been working on its self-healing clearcoat technology called Scratch Shield for more than seven years. While it's been applied to the company's cars for four years now, it's first non-automotive application is here: an iPhone case.

Called the Nissan Scratch Shield iPhone case, it appears aimed at the doubly-retentive types who not only don't like their phone getting scratched, but also don't even like their cases to show any wear. 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan has already given us a darkened preview of the next Pathfinder's profile, but tonight the automaker has released two exceptionally brief videos of its latest 'ute.

The Pathfinder concept is set to debut at next week's Detroit Auto Show, and all Nissan is saying is that the seven-seat concept will still be able to haul through the muck with four-wheel drive when it goes on sale this fall.

Beyond that, we're left with the two videos after the break, the first showing the Pathfinder's redesigned face…

2012 Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan is gearing up for the Detroit Auto Show and two new concepts will grace the automaker's show stand, along with a Detroit-inspired food truck to keep the throngs satiated.

But more important than free hipster grub is the introduction of the Pathfinder Concept, which Nissan claims will inspire the next-generation utility vehicle's styling before the production model debuts later in 2012 and goes on sale towards the end of next year. Considering the current Pathfinder has been around since 2005 (with a facelift in 2008…

2013 Nissan GT-R

The 2013 Nissan GT-R has officially bowed at the 2011 LA Auto Show. The latest interpretation of Japan's premier supercar may look the same, but it's the most powerful to date, with a full 15 additional horsepower over the 2012 model. That bumps the final figure up to 545 hp and 463 pound-feet of torque from the same twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6. The extra pep comes from a redesigned intake system, complete with larger intercooler ducting and reduced airflow resistance. Nissan says it has also taken the time to…
